03 Mar Dreams Come True for Taylor Made Dreams at Newman Charity Golf Day
Friday 28th September saw 17 teams, all from businesses in Kent, Sussex and Surrey head to the Nevill golf club for the annual Newman Charity Golf Day.
This years’ beneficiary was small local charity Taylor Made Dreams who help children with life limiting illnesses and their families get the support they need during their difficult journey.
Competitions throughout the event included nearest the pin in 2 shots, get on the green, nearest the pin on all par 3’s, longest drive and yellow ball team and overall team. The day rounded off with a 3 course dinner and an auction which altogether raised an amazing £5,500 for the charity. There were several generous offers of trips in supercars from participants to make dreams come true for one young Taylor Made soldier to tick off his bucket list.
Andrew Deadman managing director of Newman stated “We were keen to support Taylor Made Dreams this year after hearing about the amazing work they do. We hoped that by holding a fun golf day it would raise awareness of the charity and raise some valuable funds to help support children with life limiting illnesses and their families”.
Susi Mitchell Founder of Taylor Made Dreams who attended the event said “I am incredibly grateful for the generosity of all involved in the day”.
Deadman continued “We are hugely thankful for all the support given to the event especially our sponsors; Lexmark, Sharp, Redwing Roofing, Perry’s Chartered Accountants and Knocker & Foskett and to all those teams who attended. We look forward to hosting another event next year on Friday 27th September 2019”.
