28 Jan Price increases for Microsoft CSP Licences
Many Business owners will get jittery hearing about ‘adjustments’ but there may be some good news in this as well as the predictable bad.
In response to market and financial changes, Microsoft is rolling out several significant updates to its licensing and pricing models within the Cloud Solution Provider program.
Monthly Payments on 1 Year Commit
If you have a 1 Year commitment and Monthly payment, then you’ve got a decision to be made as you’ll be seeing a 5% increase on the monthly payment from 1st April 2025.
The following products will be affected –
- Microsoft 365
- Office 365
- Enterprise Mobility + Security
- Windows 365
- Dynamics 365
- Power Platform
You can avoid this increase by changing the billing from Monthly to Annual at your renewal date. You’ll save money over time, yet you’ll need to plan ahead and pay up-front for the whole year.
The good news for annual term customers paying monthly that have renewals prior to April 1, 2025 is that this change will not affect the cost of the subscriptions they are renewing until their next annual renewal in 2026.
Changes to Microsoft 365 Copilot pricing
You may be running fast from AI and Microsoft Copilot yet there are some great features that are well worth considering from the Apps.
Copilot has become some popular that Microsoft have announced the ability to pay monthly on an Annual Commitment. Of course however, the 5% increase will apply so you’ll be paying that monthly premium for this benefit.
Revised pricing for Microsoft Teams Phone and Power BI
Both Microsoft Teams Phone Standard and Power BI standalone packages haven’t seen any price increases since their launch so its inevitable that the pricing is going to change. There has been significant development for both products so are still providing excellent value for money.
- Teams Phone Standard Licenses will cost $10/user/month
- Power BI Pro Licenses will be $14/user/month
- Power BI Premium Per User Licenses will be $24/user/month
The good news
As we said, its not all bad news. As the value of the Pound changes against the Dollar, Microsoft will also be applying an FX change of -5%/-6% for Microsoft Cloud Products. The actual percentage may vary depending on the products SKU however means that the +5% price changes just announced are effectively cancelled out.
